Default 3 Position Switch

For years I've had a 3 position switch, which was off, on, on with accessories.

I've been thinking that it may be a "little" safer if I change the switch to off, accessories, and power and accessories.

I had an incident where a kid hopped in my buggy and turned the key and slammed my cart into my work bench in my garage. My mods won't prevent this, but in a car, you can turn on accessories before hitting start on the key switch.

Worth the fifteen seconds to accomplish?

I have thought about the same thing but in my case I use the 3rd spot for lights. In this setup they would be on all the time. If you have a separate head light switch your golden.

Hidden kill switch time. The trick is finding an easy access hidden spot for a solenoid activation interrupter. I have dogs jumping in and out of carts all the time. I learned to put them in neutral and or turn the key off after the neighbors dog drove their cart through a fence. (I see a great escape film potential here).

Besides my radio memory, all of my accessories have their own toggle switch. As long as I remember to turn the key switch off, all is dead. Just pondering.

In my old 70s cars, I rewired the headlights to only work on accessory or on, while my stereo worked even without a key. Seemed more logical for my usage.
