Extension cord
I need to run an extension cord to power my charger. Do you know what specifications are recommended?
Thanks |

Re: Extension cord
Don't be afraid to use a high quality 14 gauge if it's under 50"

Re: Extension cord
It depends on how many amps your charger draws and the length of the extension cord.
The AC amps your charger draws can be found on the label, typically about 10A or so. For about 10A: 25' - 16Ga Minimum 50' - 14Ga Minimum 100' - 12Ga Minimum For best charger performance, use the shortest extension cord possible and the heaviest gauge practical. |

Re: Extension cord
I'm thinking 25ft would be enough. So 16Ga? |

Re: Extension cord
Overkill is underrated, so I'd go 14Ga for 25' with that charger.
Ferroresonant transformer type chargers are more sensitive to line voltage and might take longer to charge the batteries if a 16Ga was used. |
