Default Motor Testing

I am working on a ezgo txt and I have just bought batts for it. Before I go any farther I want to test the motor. Is there a way I can hook the batts up to it and lift the rear of the cart and make sure the motor runs. I have included a pic of what I have on it.....pretty much nothing

Link 2 terminals as shown with red wire. Apply 12v car battery with jumper cables to terminals marked with green.

You should limit to around 12V for this motor test. Don't let it over-rev. Just make sure it runs.

Describe exactly how you set up your motor test. Picture or drawing would help.

Exactly the way u shown it in pic. I took the motor apart and I'm cleaning all the brush dust out of it now. I will hook it back up again when I get it cleaned. All the wires to the brushes are intact but there is a little build up on the armature so I will post pics when I get it cleaned.

Picture now? I forgot to add it. I added it while you were already posting.
