2000 DS Oil squirting from vacuum line / port
I'm working on a 2000 DS Gas car with the fe290 and oil is coming from the vacuum port on the crank case. As soon as I saw this, I was sure there was too much oil in the cart so I drained it out and it started doing the same thing. I dropped the oil again and left it a little low on the dip stick this time with the same result. If anyone has any insight that would be great
Thanks |

Re: 2000 DS Oil squirting from vacuum line / port
Let me guess... is this the pulse line going to the fuel pump? If so... don't disconnect that line while the engine is running! The air in the pulse line uses a push/pull...push/pull to operate the fuel pump, if it's not connected to anything, it will just push and shower you with oil! The FE290's have a great "sealed" oil splash system, IF... you open that system up, the oil has someplace to go! Here's a another word of advice... do not... repeat... DO NOT remove the dipstick while the engine is running! It makes a heck of a mess! (trust me... ) Hope this helps! |
