Default Re: rear shock dilemma?

Wow... I was planning on ordering a Jake's lift the end of this week but now reading this I'm a bit concerned. No mention of the other parts needed ever came up in my discussion with them nor did they tell me I'd have to discard the rear sway bar which for me is probably not going to work. I carry heavy loads regularly in the bed and post-lift the bed will be 6" higher. So higher COG.

Cart looks awesome though. May I ask how it rides?

Thanks for the detailed info, this was a really timely post for me.

Hi Tomfl,

I wouldn't let the deletion of the sway bar sway you form doing the kit, I think they
all would have the same issue because of the way a lift works on a rear axle. I plan on engineering a way to get it reinstalled (maybe someone on this site has already done it?) but It will be a few weeks before I can get to it. So far as the rear leaf spring bushings, these are things an experienced suspension guy (which I'm not) would have thought of anyway since you have to take out the leaf springs anyway. They are very easy to install and adds $20 to the package. The cart seems to ride really good? Haven't had much time to drive it....

Thanks for the detailed response. I just re-did the suspension bushings this past weekend in prep for the lift kit. Some of mine were GONE...

Keep us updated on progress of getting the swing arm re-installed please, I'm interested in a solution.

Thanks
