Default Brake Upgrade

I have done some reading about the Jakes front disc brake package.

From the material on their website it looks like there is no way to use this on my 2013 Precedent with an Alsports 4" lift.

Has anyone fabricated brackets to install this system to an application like I have?

Thanks,
gkcooper

I did check that out, and it looks pretty good.

I was hoping to add front brakes, just because front brakes do most of the work when trying to stop any kind of a vehicle.

Thank you

I have a fast Precedent running a lithium battery and losing 250# of battery weight. I installed the lithium pack before the brakes and it immediately showed me the need for more braking power. The next thing I did to the cart was replace the brakes with Ausco Disc brakes. I love the stopping power.

Curious. Why did you not put a Jake's lift on it if you were contemplating adding brakes in the future? Is there some aspect of the allsports kit that you liked/needed and what do you need on the allsports spindles to add Jake's brakes?

dundeebarnbuggy,
Actually that is a great question. The answer is I wasn't contemplating adding front brakes when I built the cart last winter.

Now that I have decided to up the speed capability I thought improving braking capability would be a good idea.

Thanks for asking,

Any thought's on using the Jake's #7511 brake kit (for Jake's 4" A-Arm lift)? It come's with new spindles with disc brake brackets, you might be able to replace the All-Sport spindles with the ones from the Jake's brake kit. I believe the heim joints on both kits are 1/2" so should bolt up.

I've used the Ausco rear brake conversions on EZGO's and CC's - was pleased with the added braking on both. Did my first hydraulic install on my '14 CC, a bit more involved on the set up with regard to getting it tied in to the existing linkage however the performance was worth the effort.

SKD,
I have not pursued that at all, based on reading the Jakes website, and other posts on this forum.

Everything Found says they will not fit/work on my CC.

Thank you,
god
