Default 2001 Club Car DS project

Hello all, I have picked up a project cart to cruise around on. It is a 2001 Club Car DS and believe it is a series cart due to having the handle forward/ reverse switch. It had no motor when bought and some of the electronics were scavenged from it. So I am piecing it back together. My question is it has a solenoid in front of the battery trays and then another in the rear next to the controller. I am under the impression that the series cart only has one solenoid. Am I missing something?

Could the extra solenoid have something to do with a v guide by pass.?

That was my next question. It should from what I see have a potentiomer on the passenger side of the frame from what I am reading. Mine has a micro switch behind the accelerator which is wired to the solenoid in front of the battery tray. there is no components on the frame under the passenger floor board but there are a couple wires. is this some kind of rigged up bypass or am I missing parts?
