That was the last RXV I'll ever work on I can't believe EZGO thought those were a good idea of a golf cart..SMH. Anyway..thanks again for all the great advice this Forum is worth it's weight in gold!
Can you list the craigslist ad for that RXV for others here? There are several guys here looking for RXVs. They may be a pain to diagnose and repair, but they do have advantages as well.

I've tried to find it but it looks like it's already sold.

Thank you for looking. It probably sold quick.

Should these parking brakes be replaced on a regular schedule?

Also. Is it possible to stop the parking brake from operating while sitting at a stop light?

You replace them when they stop working.

They power off when you're sitting still with foot off of the accel pedal. So it turns off to save power and keeps the cart from rolling. It's a spring brake, springs in the brake apply the brake when the power to it is off, and the brake releases when the power to it is on.

Gotcha.

My only concern is that we (either myself or my wife) drive this cart on the road. If this brake locks up in the middle of an intersection, I'll never hear the end of that.

They typically give you several warnings by occasionally refusing to go when key is first turned on. And they very rarely fail after the startup test has successfully passed. So, unless the key is turned off at the stop sign, not likely to have that problem.

They have become extremely popular in my area. Don't see them broke down along the paths or stuck in intersections.

Mine gave no warnings at all. We were heading back to our campsite in the 600 loop from the parking at Pioneer Hall by the dock. Went maybe a half mile or so and it just started slowing down then just stopped in the road. I may have missed a sign, but I can't recall anything.
