Folding windshield
I am thinking of replacing my front windshield.
I see folding Acrylic windshields listed with a big difference in price. Only thing I can see is some are 1/4 vs 3/16 in thickness. Any advice on if this is worth the difference in cost? Or am I missing something? Skip Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: Folding windshield
I like my
Folding windshield Down , I pick up more speed & The air flow is nice on hot days Not sure the thickness I'd think either would be ok , thicker might be tougher But they have a life-expectancy due to UV fading & hinge cracking |

Re: Folding windshield
Skip, some are tinted as well, but I don't remember if that affected the price.
I needed a new one for my rebuild but kept putting it off because I also was struggling with the different price points. And, the previous one I had bought had a completely different install layout, so I had to end up drilling more holes. in the end, I went with a higher priced one from a supplier I trust. I got the 1/4" tinted fold down. It only required one bolt on each side of the bottom of the roof supports. The rest of it is held on with some plastic pieces that snap onto the supports. That worked out well, as it ended up covering the old holes. I say spend a couple bucks and get a good quality one that is tinted and folds down. |

Re: Folding windshield
Is there a way to fix the hinge cracking, or to slow it down?

Re: Folding windshield
Didn't want to post it initially, since I wasn't sure they are a sponsor (just realized they are) but I got my windshield from golf cart king and am very happy with it.

Ive got about a good 4-6 inches cracked on the hinge on mine and its all yellowed. Not sure if its a A-4 or A-5 windshield( whatever the DOT grade is) but my carts street legal. Wonder if I could just replace it with a regular one if needed since its already titled Are any of these viable options https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...GvIaAuAY8P8HAQ or two of these https://www.amazon.com/Hinge-Continu.../dp/B006JCM876 |

Re: Folding windshield
I can't say for sure. For the one that matches mine, the panels press into a channel on each side of the hinge. They say to use a "solvent cement" on the flat hinges. Keep in mind this company is a supplier to commercial and industrial customers so they assume you know what type of plastic you're working with.
