Default Economy lift with stock rims will 22x11x8 rub

Putting a economy lift on brother in-laws 97 gas txt. Will 22x11x8 tires rub with stock rims or will I need offset rims. Have heard they will and they won't. He lives up north and was going to take everything up on memorial weekend and do it so I want to be prepared.

here's the "Rub" (pun intended, LOL) - 22X11-8's, even 4 or 6ply, have a ton of sidewall flex so although when first installed and sitting on the garage floor they may not hit the rear leaf spring inside (that depends on the design of the tire itself, I've seen them bind with some cheaper brands and others that do clear and give You about 1/2" clearance) once You load up the cart with a couple of riders it's a fair bet that they will start rubbing unless You have offset rims or a set of spacers. Start off-roading and it will also happen even with a single rider. ATV Engineering on the 'Bay sell sets of spacers for under $30, a set of 3" spacers (1.5" per side) on the rear will make sure You have plenty of clearance, and are a LOT cheaper than new offset rims.
