Default Quick help, stuck on side of road.

Was driving at about 24 mph, hear something popping and felt cart slow down so I pulled over fearing flat tire.

As soon as I could pull over I hear more of a spark spark. Quickly turned cart off and lifted seat. Smoke coming out of controller

Now let it sit and trying to tow it home and it's stuck in gear.

Tired to disconnecting power B+/- and also flipped tow switch. Still won't roll/go into neutral

Seized motor?

If the run tow is in tow and it won't roll you have a mechanical problem not electric. Either brakes, rear or motor.

From my reasoning I'm thinking motor locked up. Will take apart tomorrow am. AAA just dropped it off in driveway.

If controller blinks green then red is there still any possibility the controller is still functional after some spark sounds and smoke?

From the moment it because making a sound to me pulling over and turning off must have been maybe a 4-5 second duration

Disconnect F1 and F2 at the controller. Still red LEDs? It's probably toast. The DCX control did not have reverse polarity protection. Most of the time when the motor went out it took the DCX or Curtis with it. Good news the new XCT controls have reverse polarity protection.

Do ALL XCT controllers have reverse polarity protection or was this added to XCT controllers after initial release?

Thanks I'll check tomorrow.

Is this something worth shipping to alltrax with fingers crossed if still within 2 yr warranty period?

That only happened for a few people during the initial release of the XCT. It was a sort of goodwill program. I got that deal for a couple of happy customers.
A motor failure now will not net a free upgrade.
And yes, all the XCTs have reverse polarity protection on the input and output so a dropped wrench or bad motor can't take the controller out.

So on the ground in driveway cart won't move, feels locked in place

Lifted on jack stands, wheels spin freely but do look to go in opposite directions when spinning. Does that give a direction to go look?
