Default 1996 EZ-GO DCS failed test 5 of testing procedure

1996 EZ-GO DCS failed test 5 of testing procedure found here: http://www.***********.com/tech/ezgo...oubleshoot.pdf

What does this mean?

I have 36V on the blue wire when first flipping the tow/run switch to run. When I press the gas pedal the solenoid clicks and the voltage on the blue wire drops to 0.

I cannot get the solenoid to click again until I flip the tow/run switch off and on again. Cart will not run.

Thanks for the help!

This is one of the common failures for this controller. You can replace it now because death is eminent. Or you can prolong it's useful life by running a wire from the big controller B- to the solenoid small post where the black wire is... (after u remove the original black wire)

"Wifey, my controller is dead, and I need to upgrade it." Really doesn't work with me any more, as she's got me figured out. However, she supports my "healthy" addictions.

Ok thanks! I do not see a black wire on the either small terminal of the solenoid. 1 terminal has a single blue wire and the other small terminal has 2 yellow wires and 1 red one.

Replace the blue wire as suggested.

Also my cart does not have a M- terminal on the controller as seen in the wiring diagram. It has an A1. Is this the same as M- terminal?
