Based on the pictures of my motor do you think cleaning the terminals will help? Certainly can't hurt.

In a nutshell, any heat being generated is electrical energy not being converted to torque by the motor. The motor is not 100% efficient, so it will warm up considerably when worked hard. The solenoid coil is energized during operation, so it warms up some and so does the controller. Other than those three items that normally generate heat, the rest of the stuff shouldn't get much more than about 10°F above ambient air temperature. |
