Default Regen diode

I put a new HD solenoid in and with my XCT controller I know I don't need the pre charge resistor across the large terminals but with my new motor PQ told me to turn the regen off with this motor. So do I need to still put the regen diode across the large terminals?

Thanks

interesting.....but I would error on the safe side and say YES. The reason I say that is that I am building my cart now, have the XCT500 for my DCS, with doesn't have regen to begin with....however, my instructions from Scotty still have me installing the regen diode.

Yes, you ought to install the regen diode. It protects the controller and is cheap insurance.

You can shut off the regen braking when you lift your foot off the pedal by moving the sliders for regen amps to zero, but you cannot stop the controller from autonomously applying regen braking in certain conditions. IE: walkaway safety and exceeding max RPM setting going downhill.

DCS carts have regen braking.

had a brain fart there.... I was thinking about the motor not having a speed sensor on the end like PDS carts do.

I agree with the advice given, put the Regen Diode on any Ezgo DCS, PDS, or TXT48
