Default Type of screw holding motor cover panel (2003 DS)

The plastic motor cover panel/access cover behind the battery compartment is secured by molded-on clips in the front and two screws in the back. Like many of our the body fasteners on the cart, these screws are badly rusted. The CC parts list calls these screws out as:

SCREW- 1/4-20 X .75 TRS HD MCH

Is "TRS HD" a truss head or some sort of tamper resistant head? If the former, does the screw take a phillips bit? If the latter, does it take a star bit or some sort of weird bit that makes it truly tamper resistant? I plan to replace the originals with 316 SS.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to grind off the head of the bolt to get it off. From the parts list, it threads into a "Nut, Blind, 1/4-20." There are many different styles of "blind nut" on the market (well nuts, anchors of various type, etc.). On the cart schematic this looks like a plastic anchor of some type. Does anybody know what the actual part is and what I could to replace it?

The cart is 1000 miles away, so I need to get my parts without looking at the originals! Many thanks for your help.

On my 03 DS they are a truss head with a standard phillips head drive #2 I think.

The blind nut has a lip on the front and a four small spread out tabs on the back to bite the body.

I would think you can find some in SS with threads for a backside nut instead of the fold out tabs.

you can use any 1/4-20x3/4 screw. It doesn't have to be a truss head. You can use a standard size head with or without a washer. These screws a just holding a little plastic cover.
Look for 1/4 t nuts. they're pretty common.
Use stainless if you can find it.

Good to hear that the screw is just a phillips head. Using a torx would have just downright mean of CC! It seems like every darned screw, nut, or bolt on this cart wants to fight me when it comes time for to removal.

Haven't found anything for the blind nut that looks like it will work properly. A jack nut would be ideal, but they seem to be impossible to find in SS. Rivet nuts require a special tool for installation. Well nuts are made mostly of rubber and probably won't last. A t-nut will not work with this application. I guess I'll try to find a plastic anchor or just use a regular SS bolt, nut, and washer.

These clip nuts may also do the trick. Easier install if the holes are close to the edge.

I think I googled captive nuts. Also try clip nuts.
Oh yeah, at the bottom of mcmaster page ,there are stainless snap in nuts. Those are nice.
