welding on the frame with electronics installed
ok quick question is it OK to weld on the frame /battery box with the all the electronics still in the cart. batteries are not in the cart but everything else is
see any problem or should i remove them stock g19 cart (it is a limo) thanks Ken |

I’ve done it. I usually put old towels over everything sensitive nearby.

My nephew welded up a broken frame on my EZ-GO. He just disconnected the pos and neg batt terminals before he welded. Came out fine.

I wouldn’t ever weld near batteries or gasoline.

The is no equipment connected to the frame for ground in a cart like in a car. So you do not need to disconnect anything to weld on a golf cart.
But extreme caution should be exercised not to spark around freshly charged batteries as they produce hydrogen gas. If there is any doubt - remove the caps and lightly blow air into the cells to remove the gas. |
