Default G16 Carb Adjustment

Looking for any directions for proper adjustments to the carb on G16. Specifically the pilot screw and throttle stop. Thanks

The way I do it:

1. Run throttle stop all the way in (closed)
2. Run idle air screw all the way in (closed)
3. Turn idle air screw out 3 turns (open)
4. Start engine, use choke if needed
5. Adjust idle air screw until engine idles smoothly
6. Turn throttle stop screw until it just touches

The engine should idle with the throttle all the way closed. The carb butterfly valve has a hole or several holes in it that allow enough air to idle. The idle air circuit screw allows enough fuel into the carb to idle.

If the engine won't idle, take the carb apart and clean etc. Use carb spray with the little skinny straw to spray out each and every passage and every jet.

These aren't your same cart, but the idea is the same.

The engine should NOT idle, until the butterfly begins to open, that's how the exhaust system ends up loaded up with fuel and backfiring.

Oh I forgot this is a stock engine and starter/gen right? I'm in big block mode.
