Default 2011 RXV Danaher to Curtis 350a Conversion

I have a 6 week old (to me) 2011 RXV that has been finished aesthetically, but want to upgrade the controller. I did put 23" tires on it (I know I should've kept it to 21), so I'm after hill climbing torque, not speed.

I'm fairly certain that this model year cart comes with a Danaher controller (its grey) and would need to modify the Danaher harness to accept the new controller.

I've read through the following threads, and if there are others please let me know.

2010 Danaher to 350a Curtis Conversion Process

RXV Danaher to Curtis Conversion Process

RXV Danaher to Curtis Conversion Documented

I've been trying to figure out everything that is needed to complete the conversion without a conversion kit (because I haven't been able to find one), and its still a little unclear to me.

I found a Curtis 350a (controller only) on eBay, but I'm not sure if there is a better source?

I know I can convert the Danaher harness to Curtis using BobBoyce's documentation and the PDF guide in bsikes09's thread.

The same PDF guide also includes an item list that is included in the kit with part numbers. Should I try to get all of these parts, or is it unnecessary?

Any assistance and/or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I would go with a new EZGO Curtis Main Wiring Harness plus the parts it takes to assemble the new Curtis controller myself.

EZGO does have a 20% off sale right now Use Code EZSTYLE20.

usgicollector - Is there any particular reason you'd go that route if the existing Danaher harness is in good shape?

To simplify a conversion to a Curtis controller. No splices, only one 35 pin connector instead of 3 connector to go bad or get water in. And a brand new wiring harness with no corrosion...

Because the existing danaher harness is usually not in good shape. They almost all have corrosion in them. I go the same route when i do conversion, new harness too.

Gotcha. I'm guessing this is one of those "you wont know for sure until you remove and inspect it" type of situations?

I wasn't anticipating having to replace the harness. My wife might kill me.

I usually find corrosion all around the front of the batteries, and the part of harness that services the motor encoder, brake, and temp sensor. If the wires look discolored, pregnant & "salty", that's corrosion.

USGIC's advice is sound in terms of going with the factory Curtis harness. He helped me with the correct parts to order, and I'd be glad to forward over the resources he sent me.

I don't want to scare you into spending more money, but it was definitely a breeze of an install for me with the factory harness and then you don't have to splice or use adapters. It was definitely nice that I didn't have to worry about holding the wire strippers so I had an extra hand for an ice cold lemonade.

Why? I'm new to the cart world and just bought one with 23" tires on a 6" lift.
