Spent the better part of yesterday working on a Ezgo PDS cart. Neighbor bought it not running. He worked on it several weeks and gave up. Asked me if I would take a look at it. He said he replaced the batteries and controller solenoid. No go.

I started looking at it yesterday morning. First thing I found was he had the + battery pack cable & B+ controller cable hooked on the same terminal then the other terminal was the A-2 motor cable.
I think this may have been the problem to it not running.

So I swapped the cables around and it still wouldn't run. I found the controller didn't have power at all no matter what I did even jumping out the solenoid. I decided to try the old controller and when I got the controller out of it the front of it was melted all the way through. It was under the solenoid mount so I wasn't able to see it in the cart. I installed the old controller and it's up and running. It's slow but it's normal speed for the 23" tires on a stock controller.
Yes I suggested he do a upgrade to it.
