G16 gas backfire and then quit running
Good morning buggiesgonewild friends, I have a g16 Yamaha gas I use on the farm backfired quit running lost everything now the cart will not turn over or do anything replace a solenoid that didn't change anything I'm kind of stumped on this one I was able to jump the solenoid with a jumper wire and spend the motor over but with the key on and the pedal even depressed I still have no fire at the plug when I jump the solenoid so I really don't know what's the issue I just got too many of these on the farm and I'm trying to save some money anybody can help me out figure out what's going on with this thank you

Check your main fuse.

I honestly don't see one, I went to the small ground post with a jumper and it runs and has spark

The fuse is under a cover on the rear fender well behind the battery

When the fuse blows again (and you dont want to buy expensive parts), replace the fuse with a 10 amp "automatic resetting circuit breaker". I know, that's not "kosher", but it works. Yes, I know the picture shows a "40a" one, DONT do a "40 amp" one. The picture was just to illustrate the type of device a person might use to solve a problem without spending hundreds of dollars. If it doesnt work, you have bigger problems, and will have to spend actual money. (Or time searching, buying parts, yadda yadda) . Sorry, cheap fix that has solved some problems for me. Even if there is a bigger problem, I use that instead of blowing a whole box of 10a fuses while I search for the problem.
It takes 5-10 seconds to "reset" between "tries", the more times you "trip the breaker" the longer it takes to reset. |
