Default Need some advice

so im not much of a sparky guy, but learning :)

I picked up a 2001 TXT. 36v series cart. Had a bad controller and has old batteries. I got a new stock controller and it runs great... for about 2 miles lol. Then shes old, tired, and needs a nap. I feel her pain.... has a gnarly grinding noise im pretty sure is the input shaft/bearing but I'll confirm that once I get the motor pulled this week.

So blank canvas basically. Already planning paint, seats, roof, etc. Its already lifted and on 22x10x10 tires. Thinking about returning the OEM controller to amazon and getting an alltrax sr48400 for $100 more.

Batteries are weak, will the stock motor hold up to 48v? Or should I stick with 36v? Ive already made new 4awg cables all the way around. Any other suggestions for speed/torque upgrades? Trying to decide whats best bang for thr buck with the most performance on this thing. Budget isn't really an issue but im not trying to go overboard either. Eventually I'll be selling this (probably) as I really really like my club car lol

Put new batteries and cables in it. Fix the coupler/bearing. Do the cosmetics and run it or sell it that way.

You think they would take the controller back after you have used it? I would not expect them to.

Amazon takes literally anything back, for any reason, within 30 days

It says free returns within 30 days right on the top of the page im sure there's a bit of a restocking fee but may be worth it if the alltrax would give that much better of performance.

Im just trying to plan my moves with this thing. Going to pull the motor this week and pull the input shaft out and inspect the shaft and bearing.
