Lol it’s ok. You’re helping me so I’m grateful for any help. So I would have to tap into the connector? There is a plastic connector that I can plug something into that comes off of the controller harness. I guess it’s just hard to explain.

Just caught that you replaced the controller. Was the old one a 1264?

Yes it was a 1264 and got the 1268-5411 and a walkaway relay but don’t know how to hook it up.

The 1264 had a connector for a 5 pin personality plug, not a walk away. You are going to have to figure out the relay wiring you have and wire that in. Or turn off the option for the walk away.

As mentioned, the functionality of the walk away relay is pretty simple and if you don't have a dedicated place in the harness to connected the plug, just cut it off and wire directly to the 24 pin connector.

The Ring terminals that come from the relay contacts go in each side of the main solenoid big posts.

It does not matter which one goes to which post.

The two black wires that come from the relay coil and go to the existing 5-pin connector should go to controller 24-pin connector pin #9 and #23.

It does not matter which black wire goes into which pin and you do not need a fly-back diode as the 1268 has an internal one.

You also need to run a wire from a +48v power source after the tow/run switch to pin #3 of the Curtis 24-pin connector.

I had a guy use a hand held and couldn’t turn off the walkaway feature off. After I wire the walkaway relay up, will I have to have it programmed if installed?

Do you know what feature you have to turn off the walk away in the hand held if I choose not to install the walkaway relay?

Also, what would be a good place to run the 48v wire to pin #3?

Like kgsc said that is the setting to disable it, but why did You buy a walk-away relay if you did not want to use it?

I think it is a good device to have, are you not installing it because you don't have anything on the Controller 24-pin connector for pins #3 ,9, and 23 and no spare pins to crimp?

The 48v to pin #3 can be provided by any convenient location that is powered OFF when the Tow/Run switch is on Tow.
