I use a long neck funnel myself.

Plastic sports bottle with a long straw works well, and you can reach them from the front seat or just remove the bagwell cover for easy access from the back.

I'm not sure if it's actually a turkey baster I use but it works good for small top offs. It's a rubber squeeze ball with a long plastic spout.
Lately I've been using a transmission funnel because my battery's are shot and boil over if I forget to unplug the charger. It's tricky getting the right amount in pouring through the funnel from a gallon jug.

I use one of these. Fits in the 1 gal. distilled jug. It is used for gear oil but does water fine. Just have to make sure you get all the water out of it after you use it or the spring and check ball will rust.

When you see this, run away. They overfill golf cart batteries. They probably work perfectly for Car & rv batteries, but not for golf cart batteries. Run away. Some people love them, but in my experience they just contribute to a huge mess. It's not because I'm inexperienced.
