96' replaced obc, speed control still no go!

I still think the new OBC is in lockout mode and needs to be returned/exchanged for another new one. Simple test of running a jumper wire from small terminal neg to 48V battery negative would determine this.

As for Shadow's idea, if you didn't want to watch the charger all the time a simple Timer purchased from your local hardware store for $10 would eliminate the need to babysit the charged. Or you could (if your charger is one of the older ones) install an automatic timer/voltage sensor inside the charger itself and bypass the OBC in the car (using the old OBC that allows the car to run of course).

The charger is a Lester PowerDrive Model # 17930. Will I be able to install a timer in this?

I did this and the cart now works as it should. Will it hurt anything if I just leave this jumper-wire on until I can get another obc?

it shouldn't hurt anything in the short term. I have done it many a time, as alot of my customers can't afford to replace an OBC over a failed lockout circuit.

i know of several carts that have the relay in charger bypassed with no problems they have been this way well over 3 years but these guys keep an eye out for charger time............................ on the hand i know of several people who fried new batteries because they didn,t keep an eye charging times...................................
