Default Re: 48 Volt Charger Problem

Hey Tom. I tried what you requested. If I done it correctly, it didnt work. The charger never kicked on or charged. My batteries are reading 45v right now. . When the charger does come on before the breaker trips. The amp gauge is at 20 and the charger is putting out 50v. Is that enough? I am at a lost right now. Thanks for any help.

I"m not sure were your at with this, however ,could be the diode tree/rectifier is shorted in the charger causing it to trip.

Yes it could. If you can borrow one from another charger or buy one and try it.

Ok Guys. It is not the charger. I tried it on another cart and it worked perfect/ The problem is with my cart. I dont see any thing shorted but I did find that 4 of my batteries will ohm out some. Just a little continuity. and 2 dont. I dont think that this is normal for a battery to read continuity between the pos and neg post. What do you think?

Jump the relay on your charger and let it run for 30 minutes, then put it back to normal. Also make sure the black A/C line that goes to the breaker (the line that gets hot) you crimp that down alittle bit, so it is tight on the spade of the breaker.

the charger will not run for 30 minutes. The breaker will trip after it runs for about 30 seconds

not if you bypass the relay using the A/C line that you will have to remove from the breaker.
