Re: Really Need Help
It's not quite the disaster that it might appear, you would probably need to have replaced the shoes anyway and they are pretty cheap here
http://www.everythingcarts.com/p-819...f-4-shoes.aspx When I got my 86 the two brake cables were seized up due to rust and even though I was able to free them up I replaced them for safety. They were both (and they are different) on Ebay for about $25 a piece. Good Luck Dave |

Dave there is nothing to attach the cables to ..there is a brake pedal and a rod with a spring and that is all ,,nothing to attach the brake shoes to,, no backing plates or drums there
does anyone have a set of rear brakes they don't need ?? |

Re: Really Need Help
Ouch that's sad. I think that I would be after getting my money back. If you want to keep the cart and can't find used parts maybe one of the hydraulic upgrade kits might be a solution. I don't know how much that runs but there are plenty of guys here who have done it.
Good luck Dave |

Re: Really Need Help
OK, I'm confused (which is nothing new but bear with me) ... if you had wheels on the cart (flat or not) which allowed you to roll it on the trailer, you would have to have drums as the wheel mounting studs attach to them (see where I'm going with this?) ...
Maybe it would help for you to snap and post a pic or two of what IS there (with the drums pulled), and the rest of us can fill in the blanks - it might not be THAT bad, depending on what's there or not, I've seen adjuster kits, backing plates, etc out there for the old 2-strokes quite often |

Re: Really Need Help
Smart man Brew City. There must be a brake drum to hang the wheel off. Come on back Holeysocks, this is a mystery that must be solved

Re: Really Need Help
I was looking through a parts catalog the other day and saw drums that just slipped over the axles like a car. That would explain why he had wheels mounted.
