95 Medalist Rear Diff advice
So I was stripping this medalist and noticed that there was lots of gunk/dirt/oil build up on the rear diff housing. I pressure washed it and got it ready for paint and then pulled the pan. There was only about 1 tablespoon of oil in there and a little water too. The gears look good and I could not see any wear anywhere. What should I do? Replace the oil and wait to see if a leak appears? I sure would hate to have to pull this thing out again later for a leak. Should I re-seal the entire diff before putting back in the cart and how big of a job is that? Any advice/help would be appreciated.

Re: 95 Medalist Rear Diff advice
Clean the cover well, fill it with oil, run a bead of Permatex around the perimeter and slap it on. There's really nothing else to seal. You could replace the axle bearings and seals as long as it's out. Truth be known, replacing those in the cart or out of the cart isn't that much different.

Re: 95 Medalist Rear Diff advice
30w is recommended. I can't see any reason to use stink lube in a golf cart. It's not like they spend 12 hours at a time wound out on the highway. Seems like it would always be cold and adding to resistance of motion.
