Just for the record books, whey you guys say the speed sensor snaps off do you mean pull straight back, pinch it together then pull (releasing teeth,) or is there a twist to line up grooves then pull back like in a car light bulb?

Last thing I want to do is break the darn thing.

Just stick a flat head screw driver under the little ear on the speed sensor and gently pry outward. It'll pop out.

I removed the screws on a ge motor, can I remove the the end cap to find the bearing retainer? Does the motor have to come out? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can remove it, but you're going to need some longer screws to align the bearing retainer once you put the cap back on.

I had to use a paint can opener key thingy welded to the end of a slide hammer. It came out in pieces but I got the bastar d outta there. There was no “gentle” about it... it wasn’t coming out any other way.

Mine wasnt easy either. I used a screwdriver and a 90% angle pick. Seems like the center was frozen on shaft some. Use penitrating oil to free off of shaft. I did not take my motor out. I just removed splash shield to gain access. Mine was a 97 ge motor.
