Hunted down an EZGO parts cart today
All I was really after was the passenger side rear fender but I got the whole thing for $50. Don't know yet if the front end and rear end are still good. Looks to be a 2 stroke rear axle (bummer) but if the steering gear and the front spindles/springs are good they'll get removed and put on the parts shelf. Hopefully water didn't get inside anything and freeze pop it. I had a good 4 speed transaxle do that many years ago. Broke me heart.

I get the occasional good deal. Nothing that would remotely resemble a string of victories however. I hope when the final accounting comes and God is looking over my record He will allow me some points for being inadvertently generous with my prices on so many occasions.

Sorry Al. I want the gas tank. You wouldn't want to pay to ship it from Ontario anyway. You can get a new cap to fit an EZGO Marathon tank at any John Deere dealership. Not sure but I think they'll work on TXT and Club Car tanks too. Ask for a '1975 John Deere 400 gas cap'. If they ask for a serial number range just say it's <100000. They cost about $12 and they look great. It won't reach the tank bottom but that doesn't matter because they are totally useless as gauges anyway. I've had quite a few vintage JD garden tractors in my time but I never had a gauge-in-a-cap that could correctly guess how much gas was in the tank.
