Too much voltage?
I'm in process of rewoking a 97 CC 48 Volt and using some existing parts. The votage reducer is 12-18 volt input and 12 v 15 amp output. I checked input voltage at 16.9 volts, but the output is still 15.4. Is this too much to run headlights and tailights ? Checked it with test light and it didn't blow. Originally had brake lights and turn signals as well but I getting rid of that stuff. Your thoughts and expertise are appreciated.

Re: Too much voltage?
15v is fine for lights IMO. Some cars have alternator voltage regulator outputs between 14-15v. They have to be more then 12v to charge because a car battery that reads 12.0v is dead. Measure a cars battery voltage while running and you may be surprised, especially if you give it some gas.

Re: Too much voltage?
Be better on the pac to get a 48-12v converter.

Re: Too much voltage?
It won't blow bulbs. The bulbs will burn brighter and have a shorter life.

Re: Too much voltage?
Actually not true, all of these converters of this style put out 14-15volts under no load.
