LVS Charger HELP!!!
I have an LVS LVS-3648 battery charger. It has the crows foot plug on it and the wires needed to be re-crimped inside the plug. I made a rookie mistake and cut the wires away from the brass ends before I wrote down which wire was positive and which was negative. I tried contacting the company but was unable to get ahold of anyone.
There are two wires, white and black, inside the plug. Which one is positive and which one is negative? If you aren't 100% sure, then please don't guess at it. I just installed new batteries and a Scottyb 700 amp package, so I don't want to fry anything. Thank you. |

Re: LVS Charger HELP!!!
Just test them with your hand held volt meter.

Re: LVS Charger HELP!!!
i have fixed alot of chargers, and all i have seen is white=+, black=-...also, those contacts should be crimped AND soldered where the copper meets the contact.

Re: LVS Charger HELP!!!
I tried that, and while I'm pretty smart with most thing, electricity isn't one of them. I turned the charger on, set my voltage meter to dc volts and touched the red lead to one terminal and the black lead to the other terminal. It showed just a small (less than 1 volt if I remember correctly) amount of voltage. Then I touched the black lead to the charger and the red one to either of the terminals, it shows 50+ volts.
How would you recommend testing it? Quote:

Re: LVS Charger HELP!!!
A Google search for the diagram shows LVS has a long record of not providing after the sale support or diagrams. Perhaps Sonicj was right when he said it looked like a re-branded charger.
Your best bet may be to jumper the relay and make the charger come on and test the output. If you don't know how to do this post pics of the inside of the charger, we are looking for a small black square component. |
