Default Cart won't move

I have a 2005 club car precedent that was running fine until the other day. I noticed it had slowed quite a bit and at night the headlight would go out until I let off the gas.Now it has quit all together so I tested the brand new batteries with a multi meter. I noticed that one battery has a negative charge on it... could the battery have reversed polarity? If so could that be the reason that the cart has stopped?

Yes and yes. Sometimes if a battery is drawn down too low it may reverse polarity when it comes back up. It needs to be replaced.

OK replaced the battery and now it will go in reverse but not forward. When I push the gas pedal I can hear the click and then it clicks like I let my foot off.

Since it goes ok in reverse, I would guess a faulty FR switch

Is there a way to test the switch?

Do a search on here. TahoeDawg explained how to do it the other day. Can't remember the thread though.
