Bad splice in EZGO Shuttle harness - Cart has no power
I was having power problems with my 2007 EZGO Shuttle 6, where the power would die off intermittently and then died all together.
I went through the entire cart and then finally found the problem, which I wanted to share. if your cart has no power, you may have the following problem. Using a voltmeter, test the continuity between the red wire going from the run/tow switch to the solenoid and reverse buzzer. If you're not getting continuity on these runs, you have the same problem as me. 1. Open the seat pod, where the controller is located. 2. Follow the harness from the plug in the controller under the cart. The harness is secured under the cart using a zip tie to a nut/bolt and then heads towards the front of the cart. 3. Move about 1' away from the nut/bolt above, along the harness and you should feel that the harness gets slightly fatter and feels harder then just a bunch of wires. This is the factory splice. 4. Open the harness at the splice and repair the wires. This splice is known to go bad and will completely kill the power to the cart. Hope this helps someone, as it drove me crazy for a couple months trying to figure it out. |
