Forward/Reversing Issues
My 36V Club Car (1980-85) have new issues. The car moves forward and reverse when switching the gear/shift to forward/reversing without pressing the accelerator and off the keys. I almost hit my Car last night, but hit the trailer in front. Resistors looks burning and I immediately disconnected the battery. What should I do and I suspect resistors problem? Help please. Thanks

Hi, I still needs your expert opinion on this. I replaced 4 solenoids and the forward reverse switch. Whilst the ignition key is off, when switching to forward or reverse the cart moves without pressing the accelerator. Need help please. Thks

Re: Forward/Reversing Issues
That is exactly the same as my solenoid pack. This happens before and we replaced all the solenoid, except for the 3rd speed solenoid. Forward/Reverse switch is also new. I also noticed that the cable from the Solenoid pack to the forward/reverse switch is very hot and had burnt/smoke last weekend. Do you know what is the issue? Don't know how to test the Solenoid. Thanks for your help.

Re: Forward/Reversing Issues
Hot burned wire most likely means you have either a bad connection or you have it wired incorrectly. Double-check the wiring diagram, first. Then, check the connector on each wire/cable. Be sure they are tight and secure.
There are a ton of threads of the forum about how to check a solenoid. Use the "Search" feature at the top of the page and you'll find the info. It's very easy to do. I'm not sure if your cart as a v-glide, but if it does take a look at this thread. https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=123999 A picture of your wiring would be very helpful! Hope this works for you. |
