My didgital light has blinked after 12 miles since i owned it. It is a 2007 E4. I don't pay any attention to it anymore. I installed a analog meter directly to the batteries and that is the one i go by. My didgital light will blink and my analog shows a 3/4 full charge. I have never ran the batteries dead. GOOD LUCK.
