Default Re: Yamaha G8 Club - G8 Sluggish

I am almost done with my g8 rebuild and the cart seems to run fine just doesnt have much power or torque and not much top end speed. Compression is good, have good spark, new air filter, new carb, new fuel pump, new starter, new coil, new belts. I read on here about a torque cable, where would that be? Im pretty sure I dont have a cable that keeps the engine from flexing backwards.

Never Mind. I found on the first few pages in this thread the information about the torque bolt and I created one. It helped very much. I'm wondering what the top speed should be on a g8? Mine goes about 20mph with a rear seat addition on it.

What size tires are you running? What do you have the governor set to?

Any idea what they were? or dimensions? I'm looking to upgrade my shocks to handle a seat and extra passengers in the rear and would like something a little more adjustable such as air shocks.

Just bought a Yamaha G8 36v electric. Campground usage, and I need to put lights on it.
Any suggestions? I can not find anything online yet.

They don’t make lights to fit that body stile any more!! But I mounted these under the body on mine (but this was 12 yrs ago!!) Being a battery car, look for LED!!
