Found the build I remembered, 1979 Yamaha lift by kcnaz. He did alot of work on his G1 and well documented, stole a couple ideas of his build.

Anyone have a pic of a mounted, stock fuel pump on a G1? I see a hose from the rear end and a hose coming from the carb... Not sure how it mounts? Sorry but, I'm drawing a blank

sorry I just had tore mine out this afternoon, no pics. But on mine there was no hoses from the rear, it was mounted to the rear by 2 screws. Hoses were vacuum from under reed valve, fuel line from tank ( this comes from under the rear) and carb line.

vacuum line goes in the rear of pump, clutch side. fuel line is on bottom into an elbow, and carb side is on top

The pump actually mounts on the front of the tranny case.
