Default G1 mystery cable

when reinstalling my muffler, I noticed a small broken cable. It appears to end under the driver's side muffler bracket. Then it looks like it would go forward to the pedals? It looks old and I think the cart is running fine without it.
Does anyone know what this is, I'll try to get a picture of it tomorrow.

No, it's a mechanical cable like a throttle cable

It maybe the engine bracket tensioner or some people call it a torque strap, it keeps the engine from moving too much under load

I searched tensioner cable and came up with a pic, that looks like it! Is it needed in a g1?

If it under the muffler and on driver side and it a breaded steel cable it is used to aline the motor primary clutch with the secondary clutch if not alined properly you will end up eating up your belts . only cost $ 3.00,. To get at take off muffler and you will beadle to replace or repair my the nuts that hold it in place in the front came off my had the same thing happen and tryed to replace it with out removing the muffler just screwed it up.

it's Number 13

Yes, it will keep the motor mounts from coming apart and if the motor moves too much it will affect your performance by letting the belt slip
