I also made a cdi with the sticky on top of forums. Also if I run the brown wire directly to coil or 12 volts from battery to ignition coil should it spark? I tried that and no spark. I tried 2 other ignition coils also from running atvs.

have you tried running a ground wire for testing directly from battery to you coil ?

Yes ground directly from battery. I have traced every connection from front to back. If I thought connection looked bad I replaced it. Also there is no fuse on positive side. The red and red /white wires have been connected together.

go to this sight for free down load Yamaha bravo . yes I know this is a sled motor but it shows how to test electric problems on a simmer system

the fuses like I mention are on the negative side of system to cdi system as well the control systole for starter relays are negative control ed systems
(old ford thing). |

I just thou of some thin check if the ground wire from the CDI runs to the relays. it will be the black wire with a large eyelet this should be located on the poles that run from battery negative post.

The black wire from cdi is grounded with engine and voltage regulator. I checked it to make sure it was grounded.

Thanks for the link to that manual. I wonder if I could take parts off my snowmobile. Its a 1979 arctic cat jag. It runs good but hasnt snowed enough here in a couple years. Just sits in barn.
