I am in the middle of upgrades on a 1980 Melex 212. It is a good solid cart but I had to fabricate my own lift and do some modifications to upgrade my electronics to solid state. I enjoy the challenge but I would not recommend this cart to someone that doesn't enjoy welding and working through major challenges. There are a ton of old marathons and such that are much more upgrade friendly. I got mine for free and I will put more $ into it than it is worth not to mention the hundreds of hours invested. I hope this helps your decision.

You can get the motor rebuilt at plum quik motors, luna motors, electrical motor products or you may have a local shop who can do the job for you. Google will help.
