Angry I need help, 83 ez-go won't run

So I have an 83 that started to run horrible, then died altogether. I replaced the carb with a chinese one (threw out the old one.should have read a thread here first!) and it ran good for 6 months. Problem started again so I ordered another carb and it ran for a few hours, then started running crappy again. Returned the carb and got a new one. It ran for about 100 yards then started running crappy again. I changed out the fuel filter, lines and pump, I have spark, and still no luck. Checked compression and it's 100-105. It runs if I disconnect the muffler, so I bbq'd it but still won't run unless it's disconnected. Is it the seals? I can't keep throwing parts at it. Thanks

Let's start at the beginning, and work through a time line.

Ran good on original carb, and died. Fixed for 6 months on replacement carb. That's a solid fix.

Runs for 6 whole months, and dies again. It then runs for a few hours on the 3rd carb. That again is another solid fix.
The 4th carb is a junker. It only ran a hundred yards.

The question is, "What keeps ruining good carbs?"
You have already replaced the entire fuel system, except the tank, and maybe the steel line that runs behind the seat.

First thing I would do is clean out the tank, and check the pickup tube for holes, or cracks. Does it run better on a full tank of gas?
Same thing for the steel line. It could be sucking air through pin holes.

Find the first replacement carb, and clean it out. Remove the center stem to clean every tiny orifice. Let's see what happens then.

When you bbq'd the muffler did you get it 'well done' or just a quick girly medium rare lol? I've cooked a few of them and you need to get them hot enough to shoot flames out, and maybe cook for a longer time then you did......

Here's a pic of one I did, if you look close you can see that the smoke coming out of the pipe is just starting to turn to a brighter colored flame a few inches above. Grab some drinks and make a party out of it, then the next day I flushed it out with the hose and put it on the grill side burner to boil the water out. Like a little tea pot

This is probably a good time to ask what fuel/oil ratio you are using.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I did flush the tank out but I did not replace the steel line or the pick up tube. I am running 1 oz to 1 gallon for ratio. when I bbq'd the muffler it only smoked it didn't shoot flames. It does run with the muffler disconnected.

I also did clean out the carb before this one thinking I had a clog. Didn't run so I replacerd that one. I have read on here that the chinese carbs are junk!

Check the bottom of the pipe where it connects to the engine. See if it's gunked up there too.

I still suspect fuel supply, but every avenue is worth checking. It's a matter of elimination.

Thanks for all the help. Turns out it was the muffler that was clogged
