2015 CC Precedent Adjustable Speed Options
Hi - Have a 2015 Precedent (JE beginning serial #). It’s mainly used to run around lake community and some golf. It is lifted. It’s currently only topping out about 10mph…not ideal. I want to speed it up but want an easy way to slow it back down for when kids and nephews drive it around the lake. Would buying the Curtis programmer be the easiest route? We’re not trying to achieve anything over 20mph or so.
Any help is appreciated! |

Re: 2015 CC Precedent Adjustable Speed Options
Lifted Precedent should be running 18.
With the cart in Drive. Push it on level ground and see if it beeps and the motor braking kicks in. If not, you have a bad Speed Sensor/Magnet. Otherwise to control speeds you would need a Navitas or Alltrax controller with an “on the fly” remote for the dash. Cost you around $700. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the response!
I’m pretty sure when my dad bought it for the lake house a few years ago he said he had it set low for when my teenage nephews drove it. Everything else seems to be fine and in working order. |

Okay. Did the test and seems to roll freely with no beeping and no motor braking.

Re: 2015 CC Precedent Adjustable Speed Options
Unless you have a wiring issue between the Speed Sensor and Controller, it sounds like you need a new Speed Sensor.
When the Speed Sensor fails the Controller goes in a Limp Home Mode which limits the speed to about 8 mph. Post your results after you've replaced. Sent from my SM-A526U1 using Tapatalk |

Re: 2015 CC Precedent Adjustable Speed Options
Speed sensor and magnet did the trick. Went from 10mph to 21mph.
I couldn't necessarily see anything wrong with the sensor that I took out but the old magnet was cracked in half. Assuming someone over-tightened it. Appreciate all the help! |
