Growing up I always thought my dad was crazy for storing AA batteries in the freezer. He would get them used from work (10% discharge and they would toss them out) and bring em home and freeze them. He claimed that the cold slows down the chemical reaction that causes them to discharge naturally. I know those are Alkaline tech and not lead acid but I guess it still holds true.
