Default 2001 TXT PDS Slow Going Forward with 2-1 code

Hello, so I am not sure how to proceed. the cart will go full speed sometimes but most of the time it is slow. I check the diagnostic code and it gives me a 2-1 which is low batteries. When I test the whole bank I get around 37.8 to 37.7 at rest. Testing each battery shows about 6.25 with the exception of one which is 6.16. 5 of the batteries are 2013 Trojan's the odd one is a 2015 auto source. I metered the whole bank while driving but couldn't get the cart to go fast but with the pedal to the floor the meter was reading between 35-36v.

Also whats strange is some times if I stop and back up then put it in Forward the cart will run at full speed. I did replace the FnR switch a few weeks ago think it might be that but I am now lost.

2-1 is a catchall code. The solenoid may be welded shut and the controller going into safe mode whenever it senses that. You should be able to check that with your voltmeter.

I just checked and no continuity between large post on solenoid. I attached some pictures to show what i am dealing with. It looks all stock to me.

Do you think I should replace the solenoid anyways?

Maybe your speed sensor or speed sensor wiring is bad?

I just tested the ITS per the book and something seems wrong. I had 14.37v on it and when pressing the pedal it never changed. per the books it should only have 1.0v +or - .03v and when the pedal is fully depressed it should be at 2.7v.

Check the stickies at the top of the ezgo electric section for throttle testing instructions.

Scottyb, when testing the solenoid I have voltage on the + side post same as the battery pack. When I step on the pedal and it clicks (its doesn't always click on the first try) I get the same voltage on the other post But when I release the pedal I still have voltage on the - post that slowly fades to about 12v and never seems to go away. Is this normal? or does this prove I need a new one?

Thanks

So, I have replaced the following items and the issue still exist. At this point I am not sure what to replace now. Should I buy a new controller?

Items Replaced: ITS, Solenoid, Speed sensor, and FnR switch. I also had the motor cleaned and the brushes checked.

The cart will go full speed from cold start but once you stop and go again its slow and you have to shut it off and let it sit to make it go full speed again.

Thank you,

If the cart is slowing after being used some it may be that the controller is going into thermal cut bad (getting hot) and then working again once it cools off some.
