Default RXV Voltmeter Wiring Options?

Hey, new to me RXV, has the analog SOC indicator, but I like numbers. I wanna check my plan before I go.

My search through the threads shows or suggests 3 ways to wire the switched voltmeter:

1. (implied) wire the LED in parallel to the existing analog meter;

2. there is an existing plug in the panel that be used RED/BLCK/GRY;

3. run RED wire to the "keyed" post of the solenoid (not the post with small wires?), BLCK to B-.

Do I have these right? Seems parallel splice into the analog meter is easiest rather than running wires.

Thanks for guidance. This is a great site!

Do Not splice into the wiring harness. Just get this meter and I think you will be happy.

If you don't get the plug & play meter listed above, use your "option 3", it's the only safe one.

Ok, NO SPLICED CONNECTIONS!

Hooking to solenoid would be the cheapest route, but it is certainly convenient to plug and play. Thanks for the advice!

Yea, the factory SOC meter is not a "meter" in the voltage sense. It is a 5 volt digital readout connected to an I/O port (grey wire) on the controller. It has a simulated analog needle output.

The plug & play digital readout is designed to work with the controller I/O.
