Club Car DS just died
Carts been running great, then on a nightly cruise about .75 miles from my house it started to go and just quit. Had to push it home. 48v, 700a FSIP with older 36v motor. Solenoid still clicks but it went to go and just stopped. I'm thinking it had to be motor.
Any ideas? |

radelon, sorry that happened, what a bummer. Could you tell us a little more about the cart and its history?

Re: Club Car DS just died
It's a lifted 84 with 23" tires that was given to me.... I've had to rewire almost everything replace bushing and shock eyes.... Realign adjust camber. Been running great for a couple of weeks with no problems. Out for a evening cruise. Went to go from a stop and it started to go and then it quit.

Re: Club Car DS just died
One easy way to check motor is to press accelerator and try rolling cart. If you hear motor or cart begins to run your motor is most likely bad. I always recommend an upgrade motor on a cart lifted with those tires anyways.

I got it.... Wire going into brushes came off the brushes inside the motor.... Got set of brushes from another motor and it's running!

Re: Club Car DS just died
They more likely burned off. You are overpowering your motor with 48 volts and a 700a FSIP and big tires. It's a good thing you didn't take out your controller.

Re: Club Car DS just died
I have the controller dialed down to around 450 to 500 amps.... And the wire is like soldered into the brush and they just came out. I don't have money to buy a new motor. Otherwise I would have done that already.
