Is this a cart you just bought and you have never had it running?

Purchased used and was running (maybe without the key switch on - honestly never tried it). I removed batteries and some cabling to do some mechanical repairs on it and replace the key switch (key was previously sticky), put it all back together the way it was (so I thought) and now everything is working EXCEPT throttle.

Default Re: Key Switch Confusion SOLVED

Hi Guys,

Ok so there was a lot of stuff misleading me...status of the batteries, did I connect the cables properly as they were before, did the previous owner jumper something etc. etc. but it’s still no excuse.

It turns out that the previous owner used electrical tape to connect one of the 2 white wires to the terminal of the key switch that continues on to the meter. When I removed the panel, it must have slidden off.

Anyway, when I jumpers the 2 white wires AND made sure everything else was connected correctly, I got the solenoid to switch and movement.

I apologize for wasting everyone’s time. The white wires do need to complete the circuit for the cart to function.

Thanks again.

Mystery solved.
