2007 txtpds No Forward or reverse
I am new to this forum and carts so...
Cart bought 4 weeks ago. Ran fine until it gets hot. Wait 1-2 minutes. Then went fine until gets hot again. Talked to local dealer, said controller is overheating. the guy I bought cart from had this same dealer put a new controller, new batteries and cables, albeit the controller is cheapest one due to the fact he was selling. So now, it won't go forward or reverse. Hears what I've done. Batteries all checked 6.4 and all together 38v Solenoid checked, its new Motor checked, lifted tires off ground connected terminals, pur 12 volts, tires did spin I guess my question is how do you check a controller, albeit is new. The local dealer did say to upgrade to 500 amp controlller or alter driving habits |

What size controller is it?
What are the batteries? What size are the cables? What kind of terrain are you on? Is it lifted? If so, what tire/wheel size are you running? |

2007 TXTPDS
EZGO Lifted with big nobby tires 6 month old Trojan batteries all tested and good 6 gauge Cables on batteries (I will upgrade to 4 gauge) 4 gauge cables on controller it has a stock controller, I don't know what amp Wife rides on fairly level terrain, small elevation changes, fields, wooded paths She does creep along and I'm told that anything pre 2010 ezgo has a problem with slow creep overheating the controller.. I ended up taking to local dealer to diagnose so I didn't so something I would regret (cost me $67) . Controller is burnt out and is the problem so I was on track with my diagnostics. All other controls work-Foot pedal, For/Rev switch, solenoid, motor. I did not let them put a new controller on until I could talk to more people about upgrading to a 400 or 500 amp controller. They wanted over $1000 to install a new stock controller. I figured I can do way better installing myself. I was also told that upgraded controller do no have thermal protection. Is that true? I see the ALLTRAX 500 amp controllers have a cooling fan. I assume this helps but are they worth the money? I need some opinions on type and size controller. I was told the 2010 ezgo have a different drive and are 48 volt, do you see the same problems of overheating during period of slow driving. Should I just put stock controller, sell, then upgrade to newer cart? I don't know what to do. |
