Charger problem!
Hey guys, I plugged my cart in tonight to charge, (99 48v ds, charger is a lester power drive 17930) and when it turned on it went over 20 amperes for about 15 secs and then popped the breaker button. Does this every time I plug it in, maxes out over 20 for 10- 15 secs, then pops the breaker. I havnt had a chance to go over everything yet, but any ideas of what it could be? Batteries have about 1/2 to 3/4 charge in them, only a few months old. Wiring and cables are good

Re: Charger problem!
It is most likely a weaken breaker. You can replace it here https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...ircuit-breaker
You can install this kit https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...werdrive-17930 to make it all new except the transformer. Here is some info on charge system troubleshooting. |

Re: Charger problem!
Do you have another charger anywhere or a friend with a Club Car you can borrow theirs to test? Any Powerdrive will work. PD1 (Yours), PD2, or PD3. That will prove its not the Powerdrive.
That AC brkr goes to the Primary Coil of the Transformer. It is very, very rare they (Transformer) fail, but it does happen over time. Usually it is a weak breaker or a wire grounding in the charger where the insulation rubbed off. |
