Default Goes in Reverse not in Forward

I have a 1996 Clubcar Power Drive Plus with the GE controller (black) and a electronic forward and reverse switch. It will run in reverse but not forward. How can I test the controller and or switch to see what is causing this?

Sounds like the reversing circuitry in the controller may have failed. Does this cart have the T-shaped controller?

With the body off the controller sets on top behind the batteries and is hung up side down. It doesn’t look like a T

T took a closer look and I can see how it could be called a T shape

If it's Black its the "T" controller.

Testing the FnR switch will be the easiest.
On the back of the switch there are 5 wires.
Find the Blue wire and the White wire. They should be on pins 1 and 3 (opposite sides of the switch)
Pull only those two off and switch them. This will flip the operation of the switch so the controller gets Forward command with the switch in R, and vice versa.
See if it will go Forward with the switch in Reverse.
If so, the switch is bad or could just be dirty inside. Some of those can be disassembled and cleaned, others just have to be replaced.

If switching the White and Blue wires does not change anything, the controller has likely failed.
